Volunteered for Special Olympics, Tri-County YMCA, Hurricane Katrina efforts in Alabama and Mississippi, Lime Kiln Park Restoration efforts, Menomonee Falls Little League, Menomonee Falls Youth Basketball, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, Wisconsin Prison Fellowship, Menomonee Falls Historical Society, Badger Home for the Blind, Salvation Army and Menomonee Falls Optimist Club.

Chairman of the Board for the Salvation Army Advisory Council at the Adult Rehabilitation Center 1998-2005 and current Board Member. 2002 "Reasons To Rejoice" Award Winner.

Chairman of the Board for Wisconsin Prison Fellowship 1990-94. Volunteer of the Year Award for Prison Fellowship of Wisconsin in 1992.

Former Chairman of the Northeast Branch Republican Club that includes 150 members from Menomonee Falls, Lannon and Butler for the Waukesha County Republican Party. Also served on the Executive Committee of the Republican Party of Waukesha County for various terms over the last 20 years.

Former Member and President (1992-93) of the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club, which has 110 members and raises some $30,000 annually to support youth activities in Menomonee Falls. Received Club Awards in 1995-96, 1998-99, 1999-2000 and 2001-02.

Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) certified sports official (since 1983) for basketball, softball, cross country, track and football.

Big Ten Track Official for the University of Wisconsin since 2007.

Officiated the Big Ten 2008 Indoor Track Championships in Madison.

Officiated the NCAA Division II 2008 National Indoor Track Championships at Minnesota State University.

Marquette University official since 2009.

Northern Athletics Conference Track Championships Official in 2010.

Was one of nine members of the Wisconsin Retirement Board appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson in1998 and re-appointed by Governor McCallum in 2001.

The Wisconsin Retirement Board is the pension fund for some 535,000 public employees that include state, county, village, city, police, fire and township units. The fund has had around $83 billion in assests at its peak value. Voted in as Secretary of the Board by peers in 2002.

Served as original Co-Chairman of the Downtown Revitalization Committee (1988) that led to the saving of downtown Menomonee Falls and to the improvements that are currently being enjoyed in the historic downtown area.

Appointed by Governor Tommy Thompson in 1987 to the Citizens Council on Drug and Alcohol Abuse. Helped lead the way to the consolidation of several drug and alcohol councils to eliminate repetition, duplication of services and government waste while at the same time maintained strong programs for those citizens with drug and alcohol related issues.

Was one of 27 proud Wisconsin delegates for President George W. Bush at the 2000 National Republican Convention in Philadelphia (click here for Permanent Roll Call of the Convention cover and list).

Community Initiatives

Education Week at Old Falls Village (2002) for over 300 2nd graders in the Menomonee Falls School District. Involved over 15 organizations and individuals (100 volunteers) to start a multi-generation, historic and educational venue for life as it was in Menomonee Falls between 1850-1940 with a vignette re-enactment theatre program that was financially supported through donations.

Helped initiate Veterans Day observance (1999) with the Menomonee Falls School District, veteran groups and the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club for all Thomas Jefferson Middle School 6th graders (over 300 students). A unique opportunity for students to interact with veterans as part of the district curriculum in their effort to learn history and appreciate the sacrifice of all generations.

Worked with the Menomonee Falls Optimist Club to start the Alumni Basketball Tournament (1998) that involved some 25 teams and over 300 former Menomonee Falls athletes to raise money for scholarships that sends Menomonee Falls graduates to college. Approximately $18,000 has been raised so far.

Was part of the 9-11 Committee that helped commemorate the one-year observance of the terrorist attack for some 2,000 Falls residents at the Menomonee Falls High School.

Professional Career

Independent Registered Representitive in the areas of Insurance, Investments and Retirement since 1990.

Recreation/Community Education Director for the Menomonee Falls School District (1986-1989) that included 150 employees, $500,000 annual budget and multiple programs through the proper utilization of the Menomonee Falls Schools.

Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Portage (1980-86) that included maintaining a $200,000 annual budget for six years in a row while at the same time developing and improving the park system and adding many new recreation programs at no additional cost to the taxpayers.

Portage School Board Member (1983-86). Treasurer of the Board for the $8,000,000 annual budget.

1980 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in Parks and Recreation Administration.
